Email Marketing Best Practice
By Jon Allo
Most professional online marketers agree that email marketing is still most effective marketing method. In online business, your email list is your business and email list building must be your main priority.
The most direct way to communicate and engage with your subscribers is with email marketing. Direct email marketing is usually the main money maker when you are selling products or services online, But what happens when your emails are not opened, your offers are not clicked and nobody is buying from you?
The following 3 steps will help you to improve your email marketing.
1. Only Target Customers That Want To Buy
If your your leads are coming from a poor source, your list will have no potential buyers. It doen’t matter how many subscribers you have on your list, there’re no use if they have no intention of ever buying anything from you.
A popular email list building strategy was via solo ads. But now there are hundreds of solo ad sellers in the internet marketing industry who are passing around the same group of people from list to list.
Don’t get me wrong, solo ads still do work, but you must do your homework before buying the mailing. Look for list owners who carefully choose what they send to their list and make sure it’s someone who actually emails value and not just blasts out rubbish offers all the time.
2. You Must Provide Something of Value
You need to provide something of value in exchange for somebody’s email address. It should provide an answer to a problem that your target audience wants to solve. It can be a report, ebook, video etc that demonstrates your expertise and credibility. You’ll lose subscriber interest very quickly if you just give them something that has no benefit for them.
If you have gone wrong with the first and second points, you’ll never get to the third as you will have lost them already.
3. Build A Relationship With Your List
if you send regular emails with useful information, the subscribers on your list will get to know, like and trust you. Good email marketing examples include sending updates about your business or your life, and letting them see you as a regular person. Share videos or posts you think may be useful to them, even if they are not yours.
If you just try and start selling from the first email people will start unsubscribing from your list and you’ll sell nothing. By sending valuable information your subscribers will eventually start to look forward to your emails, trust your advice, and then they will be more inclined to buy from you when you recommend a product or service.
Success in business is mostly about marketing, especially online. Great marketing can sell an average product but poor marketing cannot sell a great product.
